Singer Syl Johnson had hits in the 1960's and 70's such as “Come on Sock it to Me” and “Take Me to the River.” Rappers including TLC and Hammer have sampled his early tunes. Johnson was recorded "live" at the 1997 Chicago Blues Festival. Rebroadcast from 7/3/97.
